All they have of their dad is photographs and memories after their father was killed in the line of duty.
Deputy Sam Brownlee was killed during a police chase in 2010.
But Tanner and his brother Chase were able to possibly get their hands on the vehicle their father drove every day, his Dodge Charger police car.
According to KMGH, the car was being auctioned off to raise money for Concerns of Police Survivors, or C.O.P.S. It is a group that provides services for the families of law enforcement officers killed on the job.
The boys bid, but quickly the car's price kept creeping up over the $3,000 they had raised through a go fund me site. When the gavel came down, the car was sold for $60,000, well over the Kelly Blue Book value of $12,500.
As the dream of owning their dad's car disappeared, the man who won, the winning bidder came up to Tanner and said here's your car.
Tanner told KMGH he had no idea the winning bidder was going to give him the car. He said "It means so much to me."
