UPDATE, 9:40 a.m. EDT Monday: A man remained hospitalized Monday after he was shot Sunday during an argument at a party in Ballpark Village, across from the St. Louis Cardinals' Busch Stadium, according to multiple reports.

The shooting, reported around 8 p.m. Sunday at a ticketed event on the rooftop of the Budweiser Brew House, claimed the life of a man in his 30s, police told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The hospitalized man, who was also identified as being in his 30s, was shot in the leg, according to the newspaper. KMOV reported he was last listed in stable but critical condition.

A representative for the Cardinals urged anyone with information on the incident to contact authorities in a statement early Monday and said that team officials were “shocked and saddened by the senseless shooting.”

“We are praying for the victims and their families and we are working in every way possible to help the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department with their investigation, including their effort to apprehend the individual responsible,” the statement said.

UPDATE, 6 a.m. EDT Monday: One of the victims shot Sunday night at Ballpark Village in downtown St. Louis has died, police told KSDK early Monday.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two people were shot Sunday night at Ballpark Village, across from Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis, according to police.

One of the victims was shot in the head and the other was hit in the thigh, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. They were both taken to the hospital

The gunman is still on the loose, according to officials.

Police said several hundred people were at an event at the rooftop level of the Budweiser Brew House when a fight started and gunfire erupted, injuring bystanders, according to the Post-Dispatch.

The Cardinals played a day game against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
