SeaWorld crews released a rescued Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, one of the most endangered species of sea turtle, into Playalinda Beach during Saturday’s Titusville Sea Turtle Festival.
The turtle returned was one of 72 sea turtles that were rescued last November off the Massachusetts coast.
They were transferred to SeaWorld Orlando for care.
Eight of those 72 turtles are still under the care of SeaWorld veterinarian teams.
Saturday’s turtle release took place during a beach clean-up as part of the festival.
Festival-goers watched as the SeaWorld team carried the turtle into the ocean.
SeaWorld has rescued 47 sea turtles this year.
