A stolen camera with wedding photos dated March 7, 2015, has been returned to its owner after being recovered by Seattle police.
Police released photos from the camera on social media to help track down the the photographer.
In a statement release Thursday, police said the camera would be sent to its "rightful owner in Louisiana":
The Seattle Police Department received dozens of tips, suggestions, and leads from community members across the country regarding the stolen camera that was recently recovered in SPD's ongoing investigation into the trafficking of stolen property in the Downtown Corridor. Thanks to community member suggestions and assistance from the SPD's Digital and Forensic Photo Unit, SPD's Major Crimes Task Force Detectives were able to ascertain the identity of the owner of the stolen camera and contacted them today. The theft and camera ownership was verified, and the camera will be returned to its rightful owner in Louisiana as soon as possible.
