University of Central Florida football coach Scott Frost is leaving UCF to return to his alma mater, the University of Nebraska.

Frost, who grew up in Nebraska, won a national championship as the Huskers’ quarterback.

Sources said he will take over Nebraska’s program with a seven-year, $35 million contract.

The UCF Knights won the American Athletic Conference championship game Saturday against the Memphis Tigers, guaranteeing their spot in a New Year’s Eve bowl game.
