Emergency crews are on the scene trying to rescue trapped workers after a block-long scaffolding collapsed Friday morning.
At least six construction workers were injured by the boards and metal, KTRK reported.
No details on the extent of their injuries have been released.
Rescue crews are combing the wreckage by hand looking for other workers and pedestrians who may have become trapped, KTRK reported.
The scaffolding was being used for the development of a luxury apartment complex across from Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros.
