The remains of a Korean War prisoner of war from Seattle, missing for more than 60 years, have now been identified.

Forensic experts were able match DNA material from Sgt. Harold Sparks through samples given by his family members.

He went to Ballard High and West Seattle High schools before joining the Army.

He was captured in a major battle near Pyongyang, North Korea in November 1950 and later died in a prison camp.

Sgt. Sparks will be laid to rest with full military honors next Thursday afternoon at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
