Police are searching for a group of children who they believe shot a 6-week-old puppy over a dozen times with a BB gun.
A utility worker noticed that a puppy was bleeding heavily and approximately 15 to 20 juveniles were playing with it Sunday evening at an apartment complex in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
According to The Herald of Rock Hill, police spoke with the juveniles and they said the puppy had been stabbed and shot with a BB gun. The report states they do not know who did it.
Investigators also learned the puppy had been abandoned by its owner.
The puppy, who has been named "Brody" by employees, is recovering at a Rock Hill animal hospital, and is reportedly making a "remarkable" recovery according to The Herald.
Once Brody makes a full recovery, he will be put up for adoption through Project Safe Pet.
