A vendor said they had not been paid, prompting an investigation by school officials, who determined PTA president Ronald Davis was embezzling money, WXYZ reported.

“Davis, to support his drug habit, appears to have used his position of authority to steal money raised by dedicated students, parents and educators,” Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Smith said in a statement. “This money would be used to support dances, field trips and other wonderful student events.”

Davis, 43, told investigators he used some of the money to buy drugs, WXYZ reported. They found cocaine in Davis' possession when they searched the home he shares with his mother and young son.

Davis was arrested and charged with embezzlement and drug possession. He was being held on $100,000 bond, according to jail records.
