When you think of Santa’s elves, you probably don’t picture prison inmates, but a group of prisoners are building toys for kids in need this Christmas.
Inmates at the Turney Center Industrial Prison in Hickman County, Tennessee have been creating toy cars, rocking horses and more for children.
"I hope they feel the same thing we felt when making them," inmate Jeff Dearing told WKRN. "There is a lot of joy putting them together and coming up with the ideas."
The inmates started making toys in carpentry class in October. The toys will be distributed by a local rescue squad, who will identify kids in need and make sure the toys get delivered.
