Next month, the cost of a first-class stamp will be changing.
But for the first time in 97 years, the cost will go down instead of up.
According to CNN, the cost of the stamp will be 47 cents, down from the current 49 cents.
The United States Postal Service raised the price by 3 cents, temporarily, in 2014 to help bring in $4.6 billion, but it was to expire in two years, CNN reported.
While the original hike was 3 cents, the decrease will be 2 cents to adjust for inflation.
The change goes into effect on April 10.
The last time the cost of a stamp went down was 1919, when the 3-cent price dropped to 2-cents.
