A 15-year-old died over the weekend in a bow and arrow accident in West Virginia, according to multiple media reports.

State Trooper Micheal Baylous told WOWK Caleb Fairchild and two other juveniles were playing a game of "dodging arrows" when Caleb was hit in the head around 8 p.m. Saturday. Medics transported him to the Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan and later to the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, where he died.

Caleb attended Chapmanville Middle School in Logan County. Phyllis Doty, superintendent of Logan County Schools, told WSAZ counselors and a pastor would be at the middle school Monday to speak with students.

Police did not say where or how the juveniles got the compound bow.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
