A North Carolina man says he was attacked with an ax because he was playing gospel music.
Police said Mary Katherine Atkinson, 32, was trying to kill her stepfather when she hit him in the head with an ax. She told her mom she was going to cut him up.
Her mother called 911 for help.
“I need a police car and an ambulance. My daughter just banged my husband, her stepdad, with an ax,” she told the 911 operator.
Atkinson has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill.
