A police officer in Michigan went beyond the call of duty when he delivered a pizza after attending to the crash of a pizza deliveryman.
According to WDIV, Lincoln police Officer Joe Sparks arrived at a traffic accident involving a Jet's Pizza deliveryman who suffered a concussion in the accident and was sent to the hospital.
Sparks then spotted the pizza in the backseat, checked the address and decided to deliver the pizza, later telling WDIV that he knew the person who ordered the food was waiting for it.
The man who ordered the pizza, Carl Babik, had called the pizza place to get an update on what was taking so long. When Sparks arrived with his pizza, Babik wasn't sure what to make of the situation.
"I'm like, 'Wait a minute ... this is weird ... why is a cop delivering my food?" Babik told WDIV.
Babik, who claims that he normally tips delivery drivers $5, joked that he didn’t tip the officer.
Jet’s Pizza is providing the Police Department with a free lunch for helping their employee and going out of the way to make a customer happy.
