Seattle police say a man who robbed a man outside a Capitol Hill gas station helped police find the missing cash – which turned out to be stashed between his buttocks.
Police said they were called to a gas station at Broadway and East Pike Street for a robbery around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after the 42-year-old man pulled a knife on a man outside the business.
Officers arrived, found the robber, took him into custody and found his knife behind the gate of a closed business.
But when police patted down the man, they weren't able to find the cash stolen from the victim.
After arresting the man and taking him back to the East Precinct, he told officers that he had stashed the money between his buttocks.
Police said the man then retrieved two $20 bills and handed them over to officers.
He was booked into the King County Jail on robbery charges and a theft warrant.
