A Christmas party for a construction company turned into a melee when several employees got into a fight outside a Washington restaurant. One of the men faces charges for allegedly stabbing one of his co-workers.

The men were all at a party for Northwest Pallet Tuesday night and had been drinking, according to a probable cause affidavit, when they got into an altercation in the restaurant parking lot.

According to the affidavit, one employee got into his truck to leave only to have a tire slashed by a co-worker identified Shane Vasquez.  When the man rolled down his truck window, Vasquez stabbed him in the neck, according to the charges. A witness told local police he saw Vasquez and another man stabbing and kicking the truck.

The charging documents state three men in all were stabbed or received slash wounds during the brawl.  One victim told police he didn't know how he got hurt, but court documents say he suffered puncture wounds to his stomach and a significant laceration to his arm.  Another man also had a wound to his arm consistent with a knife wound.

Vasquez, 22, was charged Friday with first-degree assault. His bail was set at $150,000. Another man was also taken into custody at the same time as Vasquez but was not charged. It's not clear from the affidavit what started the fight.
