Police said "Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta" star Raymond Scott, known as Benzino, was arrested Tuesday after a weapon was found in his carry-on bag at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, WSB-TV reports.
A TSA screener at the airport said a passenger went through a security checkpoint with a Sig Sauer 9-mm handgun in his carry-on bag, police said.
TSA agents saw the gun as the bag was being X-rayed. The gun had seven rounds in the magazine and no rounds in the chamber, police said.
The passenger, Scott, did not have a weapons permit, and the area was an unauthorized location for weapons, police said.
Scott, the CEO of Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, is also a former co-owner of The Source magazine. Last year, he was shot by his nephew while driving in a funeral procession for his mother in Massachusetts.
The gun was turned in to Atlanta police as evidence. Scott was arrested and taken to the Clayton County Jail.
Scott's carry-on was given to his fiancée, according to police.
