A former Bellevue teacher is charged with molesting students during class at the French Immersion School of Washington.

Florence Fournier-Montgieux, 31, is charged with child molestation for touching two second grade students at the Bellevue school.

The girls told their parents Fournier-Montigieux would reach her hands down their shirts and touch their chests during their second-grade class at the private French school located off West Lake Sammamish Parkway in Bellevue.

According to charging documents Fournier-Montigieux was fired from the school last February for other misconduct.

Parents complained she was hitting the children with notebooks and putting them down verbally.

Fournier-Montigieux was part of an exchange program that brought teachers from France, coordinated through the French Embassy.

When she was fired her visa was revoked, she went back to France last March according to police.

In May two students came forward and reported the teacher repeatedly reached down their shirts with her very cold hands and touched their chests.

One victim said it happened more than 20 times.

The school contacted the Bellevue Police Department.

After months of investigating, prosecutors charged Fournier-Montigieux with two counts of child molestation.

The French Immersion School of Washington released a statement:  "We take any allegation of inappropriate conduct very seriously and cooperate fully with local law enforcement. These particular allegations prompted a thorough review of our processes and teacher screening to help ensure nothing like this can ever happen at the school."

Fournier- Montgieux is back in France, prosecutors say it will be up to French officials to locate and arrest the teacher.

If she is arrested, the Department of Justice will work French authorities to extradite Fournier-Montgieux.

Local investigators are frustrated and fear Fournier-Montigieux may not be held accountable because they say France has a history of not extraditing French citizens accused

of crimes outside of France.
