A Florida man was arrested last week after police said he strangled his girlfriend to death and then placed her in a noose to make it look like a suicide.

Brian Wilson, 47, was arrested while in jail on Nov. 28 for a DUI charge after the body of Jennifer Copeland, 43, was found hanging from a noose in her garage, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports. Officers responded to an alleged burglary at the Sarasota home after Copeland's mother found "a tear in the screen door near a door knob and glass slate removed."

The Bradenton Herald reports that two witnesses told police Wilson said he strangled Copeland because she wouldn't shut up.
