A United Express CRJ700 regional jet caught on fire Sunday soon after landing on the runway in Denver.
NBC News reported that one of the engines of the plane erupted into flames as the jet taxied on the runway of Denver International Airport.
SkyWest operated the flight on behalf of United Express.
KUSA reported that four crew members and all 59 passengers were able to safely exit the plane. There were no injuries.
“After landing safely at Denver, SkyWest flight 5869, a CRJ700 operating as United Express from Aspen to Denver, experienced engine issues,” SkyWest said in a statement. “All 59 passengers safely deplaned the aircraft and were transported to the terminal.”
The fire did not impact airport operations and runways remained open.
The cause for the fire is under investigation.
