An Arizona man dressed in a black mask and cape fought with Phoenix police as they attempted to arrest him on a DUI charge, KNXV reported.
Diego Hernandez Hanze, 30, was arrested after he was confronted by authorities on June 1, the television station reported. He was charged Sunday with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and multiple counts of aggravated assault.
On June 1, police noticed a parked vehicle with its engine running, KNXV reported. Police said they observed Hanze slumped over the steering wheel, wearing a black mask and cape. An "open large-sized beer can" was seen in the vehicle, police said.
After Hanze was removed from the vehicle, police said he head-butted one of the officers and tried to take his gun, the television station reported. Hanze allegedly bit another officer while attempting to resist arrest, police said.
Police took Hanze to an area hospital. Sunday morning as officers were escorting him out of the hospital, Hanze reportedly slipped out of his handcuffs and attacked an officer, KNXV reported.
Other officers assisted in subduing Hanze, the television station reported.
