A Pennsylvania woman is accused of assaulting her girlfriend and putting a dog in a microwave during an argument about the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the Morning Call, Kirsten J. Gaskins was arrested Sunday on charges of simple assault, animal cruelty, harassment and drug paraphernalia possession following the incident at a Hanover Township hotel.
Colonial Regional police said Gaskins, of Philadelphia, became enraged Sunday night after the New Orleans Saints rallied to beat the Eagles and advance to the NFC title game, the Call reported. Gaskins yelled, pushed and struck her girlfriend, then threatened to kill her dog, according to the police report.
When police arrived, they found a Pomeranian in the microwave, the Call reported. The dog was not hurt, authorities said.
Police also alleged that Gaskins had marijuana paraphernalia in her pocket. She was arrested and later freed on $20,000 bail, the Call reported.
