Baseball's hit king will take a crack as an analyst for Fox.
Pete Rose has been hired as a baseball analyst for Fox and Fox Sports 1, according to Fox Sports.
Rose would serve as a guest analyst for MLB on the networks pregame shows and appear on MLB Whiparound, America's Pregame and the Fox Sports Live newscast.
Rose, who has been banned from baseball since 1989 for gambling, recently petitioned new commissioner Rob Manfred for reinstatement. Rose said he didn't take the job as a way of helping his reinstatement.
MLB chief communications officer Pat Courtney said FOX informed them of the decision to hire Rose as a courtesy, but the network isn't required to clear talent decisions with the league.
