Person of interest in custody after Georgia college shooting

Authorities say a person of interest in custody after a Georgia college was on lockdown Monday due to an active shooter situation.

Paine College in Augusta sent out a communication Monday afternoon stating "This is (an) active shooter situation and we are barricaded in the office."

According to the Augusta Chronicle, Monday's incident took place about 1 p.m. One student suffered a nonlife-threatening wound and was being treated at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

WJBF-TV in Augusta reported that operations at both the campus of Georgia Regents University and the campus of Paine College may now resume as normal.

There was a shooting Sunday on campus. It's not clear if the two shootings are related.
Paine College is a historically black college with about 800 students. It is located about two hours east of Atlanta.
