The Chimera ride at the Chapultepec Fair derailed after it hit a metal structure that is part of the roller coaster, Notimex, Mexico's state-run news agency, reported.

The last car of the ride came loose and fell more than 30 feet, officials said.

The men who died were aged 18 and 21. They suffered head and other injuries. Two women, aged 27 and 35, were also severely injured. One of the women had a leg injury that required surgery and the other suffered a severe head injury.

The accident is under investigation.
