Pennsylvania newlyweds celebrating their three-week anniversary decided to execute a dream they both shared — killing someone together.
Friday night, police arrested 22-year-old Elytte Barbour in the November death of 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara. His 18-year-old wife, Miranda, was arrested for the same crime earlier this week. (Via WBRE)
She says LaFerrara groped her and after convincing her to turn herself into police, Elytte defended his wife's story. (Via The Daily Item)
"I do not believe that this was malicious once so ever, I believe that she was attacked and that under those circumstances she took the necessary measures to defend herself." (Via WHP-TV)
But he quickly changed tune after the story didn’t add up and he was arrested.
Police say Elytte told them… he was hiding in the backseat of her car under a blanket. … Elytte put a cable cord around Laferrara 's neck while Miranda stabbed him repeatedly. (Via WNEP)
More than 20 times. Elytte also told police they then reportedly cleaned up the car and went out to dinner for his birthday. He said they did it just because they wanted to kill someone.
Laferrara was reportedly lured in through an ad on Craigslist. It's currently unclear if there are any more victims. Miranda is reportedly a mother of a one-year-old from a previous relationship. (Via New York Daily News)
Elytte Barbour is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and criminal conspiracy and possession of instruments of crime. Both he and his wife are being held without bail.
