NBC reports between 50 to 60 parishioners witnessed the shooting, including the pastor's wife. Police say Karey shot Harris Sr. once from far away, then walked up to him and shot him again at close range.

According to the sheriff spokeswoman, Karey reportedly fled the scene but turned himself in shortly after. She says Karey also showed authorities where he'd discarded two guns in a wooded area. (Via Fox News)

Karey is currently in custody on a $1 million bond. He now faces a second-degree murder charge. Authorities report Karey had no criminal background. (Via KATC)

Harris Sr. was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are still searching for a motive in the shooting.
