The families of two missing Florida teens have about 20 private planes in the air looking for them, one of the boys' mothers told The Palm Beach Post.
Blu Stephanos is in one of the planes today, and has been searching for his son Austin and friend Perry Cohen in the air since Saturday, said Carly Black, Austin’s mom.
“He’s going to bring our baby home,” Black said. “I truly believe they’re out there. They just need to be found.”
Black said the community has donated planes to aid in the search. She said everyone is thankful for the community’s support.
“It’s indescribable the way I feel. The love and the strength that I’m getting from everyone. I couldn’t be more appreciative and thankful,” she said.
She also said she and Perry’s mom Pamela have been one another’s rock.
“And we’ll continue to do the same until we get them home, and just like Austin and Perry are doing, they’re supporting each other just like everyone here is supporting each other.”
Nick Korniloff, Perry Cohen’s stepfather, said the concentration of aircraft and spotters are circulating 50 miles offshore from the northern part of the state to Savannah, Ga. Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos’ families through a “united effort” are jointly raising money for the search.
The U.S. Coast Guard announced Tuesday morning it moved its entire search to Southern Georgia. Search and rescue teams have covered more than 28,000 square nautical miles. Stephanos and Perry Cohen, both 14, haven’t been seen since Friday. Their boat was found Sunday 67 miles off the coast of Volusia County.
