A Florida man, paralyzed in a car crash in 2008, remains in critical condition after being struck by lightning Sunday.
Nick Williams, 28, was found unconscious by a neighbor in his Pompano Beach yard, the Sun-Sentinel reported. The neighbor told her husband to call 911 as she rushed to attend Williams, WPLG reported.
According to a GoFundMe account created for Williams, his wheelchair was on fire when the neighbor reached his side.
"They do believe it hit the tree he was sitting under," Williams' fiancee, Emily Netter, told WPLG. "We were told that the tree was smoldering when they responded and his chair was on fire."
Family and friends believe Williams was doing his daily workout -- a 5-mile ride around his neighborhood -- and was unable to get inside his home when an afternoon storm rolled through South Florida, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Williams was revived by paramedics and taken to a local hospital. He remained in critical condition late Tuesday, the newspaper reported.
