Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers helped a member of the community confined to a wheelchair.
The electric wheelchair had run out of power. When Officers Worthy and Womble encountered Mr. Welch, he could not get onto a Charlotte Area Transit System bus because of the situation.

Worthy and Womble helped Welch from his spot to a Family Dollar store .
The officers stood with Welch until his chair was charged and he could get home.
