North Carolina father accuses day care of scrubbing son's skin raw
By WSOC - Charlotte
May 19, 2016A North Carolina father wants charges filed against his son's day care after he said an employee scrubbed the boy's face raw, WTVD reported Wednesday.
Agustin Luna shared images of his son's face with red marks and cuts.
According to Luna, the incident happened last week at Little Angels Preparatory School in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, when a worker tried to wipe marker off his son’s face.
Luna said his two sons drew on each other with magic markers the night before and that he explained to the day care worker that he had tried to remove the marker from their skin to no avail.
He didn't think the day care worker would try to remove the marker stains herself.
Luna told WTVD that the worker didn't stop scrubbing the boy's face with soap and a brush, even when his child cried in pain.
"I (asked) him, 'Why didn't you run away from her?' He (said,) 'She was holding me. She was holding me in my arm and I told her to stop, I told her that it was hurting me. And she (said,) 'No, stop crying'" Luna recalled.
The family said the day care worker called to apologize.
"She was crying, apologizing to me," Luna said. "She said, 'Mr. Luna, forgive me. Forgive me.'"
The owners of the school didn't comment other than to say they believe the worker never meant any harm, but Luna said he believed the move was intentional.
"I feel so bad. I don't want this to happen to another child," he said.
