New York Fashion Week will once again feature a show that highlights adaptive clothing, or clothing that is specifically made for people with special needs.
Runway of Dreams debuted with lines from Tommy Hilfiger, Nike and Target during 2018's Fashion Week in New York City, USA Today reported last year. Now another retailer will be added to the mix -- Kohl's, and a teen from Maryland will be featured as the line's model.
Faith Guilbault, 15, who lives in Bel Air, Maryland, has cerebral palsy and critical vision impairment, WJZ reported.
But her conditions have not stopped her from the runway spotlight, modeling for Tommy Hilfiger in the past.
This year she was tapped by Runway of Dreams after her mother sent photos to the group when she heard about the organization's need for models a few years ago.
"They have such a hard time as it is with the struggles and barriers they have to overcome daily. They shouldn't have to struggle with their own independence with getting dressed," Karen Guilbault, Faith's mother, told WJZ.
New York Fashion Week begins next Friday and runs through Sept. 14.
