According to NBC News, the college mistakenly sent out 5,100 acceptance letters to the wrong email list last week, a university spokesman said. The recipients, who are still under review, were notified of the error within four hours, the school said in a statement.
"We know that this can be a stressful time for prospective students and their families," the statement said. "The University at Buffalo deeply regrets this unfortunate error in communication."
