When the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Iman Shumpert last season, they got both a hardworking player and, apparently, a doctor.

Shumpert and his fiancee, Teyana Taylor, were at home early Wednesday when she went into labor days earlier than expected.

Taylor shared a photo of the newborn on her Instagram, along with a story of how the birth unfolded.

With only time to act, Shumpert assisted his fiancee with two 10-count pushes and caught the baby in his bare hands, she said.

He tied a pair of headphones around the umbilical cord until the ambulance arrived. He also wrapped the baby in a bath towel before putting the child into his fiancee's hands and wiped the child's face as well .

"Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you," Taylor said in the post.
