Must-see: Dad, 6-year-old son find possible megalodon tooth on South Carolina beach

A Virginia dad says he and his 6-year-old son made a prehistoric find during a recent trip to a South Carolina beach.

According to WSET-TV, Brandon Overstreet and his son, Luke, of Bedford, Virginia, were searching for shark teeth at Myrtle Beach when they discovered what appeared to be a megalodon tooth.

"On our annual trip to Myrtle Beach, me and Luke always look for shark teeth. It's just our thing," Overstreet wrote Monday in a Facebook post. "Well, we stumbled upon a giant in the shell beds just outside of our hotel. Definitely a memory to last a lifetime!"

According to the Florida Museum, the massive predators were "the largest shark to ever live in our oceans" and have been extinct for 2.6 million years.
