Kids can, and will, run late when they're not in the mood to go to school.
Normally parents reluctantly schlep them to the office to drop them off.
But one Salt Lake City, Utah dad has come up with a different method to get his message across about being late and he's posting his creations to his Instagram account, the "Today" show reported.
Seth King is the dad behind the account latenotes on the photo-sharing site.
The latest entry explains why his daughter was late for school after Columbus Day.
The King family also celebrated the Cubs playoff win.
They apparently also mourned two heartbreaking events in entertainment, One Direction without Zayne Malik and the death of McDreamy.
The notes are serving a dual-purpose: admitting that the kids are late and giving teachers a sometimes well-needed laugh.
"I was getting bored with writing the same old excuse note, and it got to a point where I also wanted my kids to understand the shame they should be feeling for being tardy and putting on-time attendance at their school as a second-tier priority," King said.
