A U.S. Marine who is also Muslim directed a retort at GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump this week via Twitter.
The tweet from Tayyib Rashid has a picture of his military ID and a message to Trump that says, "I'm an American Muslim, and I already carry a special ID badge. Where's yours?"
Many more Muslim U.S. military veterans have followed suit, posting their own IDs and #MuslimID.
Rashid's tweet was a response to Trump's comments in an interview suggesting support for the creation of a registry for Muslims in the U.S.

Trump and his campaign have since said that the exact context and meaning of both the question and answer were not clear.
