The tweet from Tayyib Rashid has a picture of his military ID and a message to Trump that says, "I'm an American Muslim, and I already carry a special ID badge. Where's yours?"

Rashid's tweet was a response to Trump's comments in an interview suggesting support for the creation of a registry for Muslims in the U.S.

"There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems. And today, you can do it. But right now we have to have a border, we have to have strength, we have to have a wall," Trump told NBC's Vaughn Hillyard

Trump and his campaign have since said that the exact context and meaning of both the question and answer were not clear.
