About 170,500 universal rechargeable power banks are being recalled due to a fire hazard.

According to a March 26 recall from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Luv Betsey by Betsey Johnson power banks can overheat, causing a fire hazard. The chargers come in a various shapes and colors, including a unicorn head, a pig with wing and a laughing emoji. The chargers were sold at Burlington, Kohl's, Ross and other stores across the country from November 2016 through January 2019 for about $25.

The products were manufactured in China and imported by Daniel M. Friedman & Associates, a division of Steven Madden, Ltd. of Long Island City, New York.

About 6,900 chargers were recalled in Canada. No injuries were reported from the chargers, but there were three reports of fires from the devices. In one incident, there was $150,000 in property damage from a fire.

Consumers with affected products should stop using the chargers immediately and contact Daniel M. Friedman & Associates to arrange to return the product for a full refund.
