AJC photographer Elissa Eubanks captures the devastation in Haiti following a massive earthquake that has left the impoverished nation in shambles.

Residents walk through a heavily damaged side street in Port-au-Prince. Nobody knows how many died in Tuesday's massive quake. The Pan American Health Organization now says 50,000 to 100,000 people perished in the quake. Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive said 100,000 would "seem to be the minimum."

A toddler lays in a baby bassinet at St. Damien Hospital, the only pediatric hospital in the city. Mother and their babies crowded the hospital awaiting attention from doctors.
