The mother who became incensed when she found her son throwing rocks at police told CBS News Tuesday that she did not want her son "to be a Freddie Gray."

Toya Graham is a single mother of six children. The son she is seen hitting in the video is 16 years old.

Freddie Gray is the man who died after his neck was broken while in police custody. Rioting began in Baltimore after Gray’s funeral Tuesday.
Graham said she “lost it” when she recognized her son in a crowd of protesters.
She said her son told her later that his instinct when he saw her was to run because he knew she was strict.
Graham said her son joined her watching the news coverage of the rioting Monday night and they soon saw comments about the video of her slapping her son on Facebook.
Even Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts commented on the video.
"I wish I had more parents who took charge of their kids tonight," he said, according to CBS Baltimore.
