Michael Irvin announced he is cancer-free and thanked his fans for their prayers and support after undergoing tests for a throat biopsy.

"Thank you God for continuing to answer Prayers and Thank you ALL for Praying," Irvin wrote Sunday on Instagram. "I spoke with Dr St John at UCLA Medical and she has informed me that all test have come back 100!% clean. NO CANCER!!!!!! It is impossible to express my family and my appreciation for the overwhelming out pour of love, support and prayers."

Irvin, a former wide receiver with the Dallas Cowboys who currently works as an analyst on the NFL Network, said the problem started when he lost his voice in Week 13 of the NFL season after the Cowboys beat the New Orleans Saints.

Irvin, 53, said Friday in a detailed Instagram post, which included a photo of him lying in a hospital bed, that he was terrified and that his father had died at 51 from throat cancer.
