Meghan Markle has made her first red carpet appearance as a royal at the European premiere of "The Lion King."

People reported that the Duchess of Sussex was accompanied by Prince Harry to the event, in which Disney's CGI remake of the 1994 classic premiered in London's West End.

Harper's Bazaar reported that Markle wore a black Jason Wu mesh panel flare dress with a sheer neckline and sleeves and accessorized with a black Gucci clutch. People reported she wore black Aquazzura heels. Harry wore a tuxedo.

Inside the event, photographers captured Markle and Harry speaking with Beyonce, who plays Nala in the new version of the film, and Jay-Z.

People reported that the premiere supports Harry's conservation work with endangered wildlife in Africa. For its part, Disney has announced a global conservation campaign called Protect the Pride to raise awareness for the decreasing lion population across Africa.

It's been a busy weekend for Markle. She was seen at the Ladies Singles Final at Wimbledon on Saturday, where her friend, Serena Williams, who was defeated by Simona Halep.
