McDonald's is trying to rev up its menu and is testing an unexpected addition at 20 of the company's restaurants in the U.S.
Selected restaurants in five states are now offering Monster energy drinks, The Wall Street Journal reported.
A McDonald's spokesperson said the test is in response to customers' feedback.
The drink will come at a price -- about $1.50 more in a value meal, The Chicago Tribune reported.
Two versions of the extra-caffeinated drinks are being offered: a 16-ounce can of Monster Energy "Green" and Zero Ultra.
This is not the only change the company has introduced.
McDonald's recently began offering all-day breakfast.
