Frank Hodges, a husband and father of 4, was working on his sister’s van in his driveway this week when his family and neighbors heard a loud noise.
“And next thing you know, bam, the whole thing was down on top of him,” said Hodges’ brother-in-law, Mike Pasquale.
Pasquale says he had a jack under the van, yet it still fell over.
“He took the whole impact of that van on his chest and his head,” said Pasquale. Other then neighbors ran over to help, he said.
“The neighbor brought one of his jacks while the rest of us yanked that van so he could get the jack underneath it,” Pasquale said.
Collectively they were able to pull Hodges out from under the van and get him sent to University of Florida Health.
The family says Hodges is awake and responsive, but he has no insurance.
They've set up a GoFundMe account (here) to help with the treatments.
It’s only been up for a day, but almost $1,800 has already been raised to help the family with medical bills.
