According to WBNS, 26-year-old Gregory Wheeler was playing the game at 9:40 p.m. with a friend in the area of Linden Park.
A 14-year-old boy rode up to Wheeler and asked to use his cellphone to call his mother. Wheeler handed over the phone and the teen fled the area, WBNS reports.
When Wheeler attempted to retrieve the phone, he was hit in the head by another person, then shot three times by the teen.
Police did not immediately provide a condition for Wheeler. The teen was arrested and admitted to firing the weapon, police said.
The other person who struck Wheeler in the head was not arrested. He is described as a black male between 14 and 15 years old.
