What started out as a lucky ticket has turned into a legal mess for one young Iowa man.
In July, Jobie Boals-Watters was all smiles after he cashed in a $100,000 instant scratch game ticket.
At the time, he told lottery officials that a co-worker had purchased the ticket for him.

That’s an important detail because state law forbids anyone under 21 from buying lottery tickets.
But after receiving an anonymous tip, state lottery officials viewed surveillance video from the convenience store where the winning ticket was purchased and discovered that Boals-Watters had bought the ticket himself.
According to KCCI, the underage gambling violation makes the prize invalid.
