A man has died after police say he was impaled by a stick when he crashed his dirt bike.
WPBN reported that the Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to a crash Saturday morning in Peacock Township, Michigan.
The Detroit Free Press reported that, according to a Facebook post from Sheriff Richard L. Martin, the driver of the dirt bike, identified as 22-year-old Dacota Fredirck Rowe, was seriously injured.
"Rowe's head had been impaled by a stick," officials said in a Tuesday news release. "Rowe had been wearing a helmet that was equipped with a face shield."
Rowe was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where died of his injuries, according WPBN.
“It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash,” Martin said. “This incident is still under investigation.”
