A Lancaster man is charged with homicide by child abuse in connection to the Sept. 4 death of his son.
The Lancaster Sheriff's Office said Robert Jordan told them that the child, who had a disability, fell out of his wheelchair and hit his head on the floor on the morning of Sept. 4.
Jordan, 47, drove the child to Springs Memorial Hospital. The child was flown to Carolinas Medical Center where he died the same day.
An autopsy determined the child died from blunt force injury to his head.
Investigators interviewed witnesses who knew the Jordan family and reviewed the autopsy report. They took Jordan into custody on Tuesday.
