A man has been accused of slapping a teen at a Pheonix amusement park.
KNXV reported that, according to court documents, Franklin Brown was with his girlfriend at Castles N'Coasters Saturday when an off-duty police detective saw him assault a teenage boy.
Brown "intentionally slapped with victim … on the left side of his face with an open right hand," the court document said.
The detective said he saw an argument between Brown, 44, and the 13-year-old boy in which Brown accused the boy of throwing a grape at his girlfriend.
"The victim admitted to having grapes which he was sharing with his family and denied throwing anything," the document obtained by KTVK said.
The detective also said Brown's girlfriend did not know who threw the grape at her, but she was sitting in a cafe area of the park when she felt something hit her head. When she looked at the ground, she saw a grape.
Brown was arrested and charged with aggressive assault of a minor, KNXV reported.
KTVK reported that Brown was released from jail on his own recognizance. He is due in court Aug. 12.
