WSOC-TV reports that officials arrested Irving Fenner Jr. about 2:35 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment in Coventry, Rhode Island. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Officer Tim Brackeen, 38, died at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte on Monday morning.

Brackeen was shot in the torso around 12:20 a.m. Saturday while looking for Fenner, who was wanted on outstanding warrants, officials said. Other responding officers heard the gunshots and found Brackeen wounded.

Brackeen was first transported to Cleveland Regional Medical Center and then flown to Carolinas Medical Center, where he died.

Fenner was originally wanted on armed robbery and kidnapping charges. After Brackeen's death, a new warrant was issued against Fenner for murder.

Officials with North Carolina's State Bureau of Investigation said they arrested Deitria Morris on Tuesday on charges of accessory to murder. The SBI also arrested Ashley Hamrick, who reportedly lived with Fenner and her boyfriend, Talmadge Keller, on Tuesday afternoon for allegedly harboring an escapee.

On Tuesday night, a SWAT team and police in Providence, Rhode Island, searched a home believed to be the residence of Fenner's half-sister, Jolisa Peeler, officers said. Peeler was taken into police custody during the raid.

Casey Fenner also was arrested in New York on Tuesday night. His connection to the shooting suspect is not yet known.
